Beginner Drawing and Painting Course
The course provides our students with a combination of drawing and painting lessons, offering the opportunity to learn both disciplines at the same time. In this way, students can better understand how the two practices work together and progress in both.
A Program Dedicated to Oil Painting
Apollon Art Studio’s painting courses are designed to introduce and deepen the use of oil painting through a method that combines technique, observation, and knowledge of materials. Students learn to use oil correctly, tackling exercises based on application, academic techniques, and glazing techniques and realistic rendering of subjects.
Portraiture Course
Portrait painting is particularly compelling because faces are among the most expressive subjects in art. For the painting component, we will use oil paints. We will study the variety of skin tones, subtle color transitions, and how to render facial details realistically.
Figure Drawing and Painting Course
The goal of this intensive course is to teach our students how to realistically represent the figure through drawing and painting. Drawing lessons include sketching body movement and learning shading techniques to express form.
Learning Starting from Still Life
The course is suitable for both beginners, who can start without experience, and more advanced students. We usually start with still life, a fundamental exercise for understanding light, form, and color. Depending on the level, different subjects are tackled and more complex techniques are gradually introduced.
Alongside the practical part, the course includes theoretical moments dedicated to oils, brushes, supports, and styles, to provide the student with a complete understanding of the pictorial medium.
Landscape Painting Course
The landscape painting course is divided into two parts: natural landscapes and metropolitan cityscapes. During the lessons, we will explore aerial perspective and geometric perspective, both fundamental studies in landscape art. We will analyze different techniques and methods for painting elements of nature and architecture.
Art Techniques of Old Masters Course
The works of artists from the past are remarkable for their exceptional quality and distinctive techniques. These techniques remain a reference point in the 21st century and are still used today by contemporary artists. Our studio offers students a series of workshops that provide the opportunity to learn painting and drawing techniques inspired by the greatest masters of the past.
Duration and Methods
Painting lessons Florence
The course has a minimum duration of one week and can be taken in two modes: intensive (full day) or semi-intensive (morning only). Levels are defined on the first day of the course to create homogeneous groups and allow each person to advance at the most suitable pace.
Classes are held exclusively in person in our Florence art studio. At the end of the course, upon request, you can receive a certificate of participation, useful as proof of artistic training.
