The goal of this intensive course is to teach students how to represent the human figure realistically through drawing and painting.
The drawing lessons focus on studying body movement and learning shading techniques to express form. The figure course includes the study of proportions and the anatomical structure of the human body, enabling students to draw the figure accurately from any perspective.
During the figure painting lessons, students learn how to create harmony in a painting through the use of warm and cool skin tones. We use oil paints and fast-drying mediums to block in the main masses of light and shadow, gradually progressing to the detailed rendering of the body.
Students work with photographic references and live models, both male and female. Models pose for three hours per session, allowing students enough time to create a precise drawing or painting.
Drawing materials are included in the course price. Painting materials are at the student’s expense.
Classes take place from Monday to Friday. Semi-intensive courses run from 9:00am to 1:00pm. Intensive courses run from 10:00am to 1:00pm and from 2:00pm to 5:00pm.
